Helly R Wore Repetto Heels In the Severance Finale…Until She Didn’t

We need to talk about her being barefoot!

During the season two finale of Severance, Helly appears in the hallway right after Mark’s innie lets Gemma out the exit stairwell. She’s wearing a light green three-quarter sleeve shirt, blue pencil skirt, and most notably, no shoes.

When we are first introduced to Helly in episode one of season one, she’s sprawled out on a conference room table. She looked like a toy released from the grip of a claw machine, lowered down and plopped in an office against her will. She’s wearing a variation of what she always wears: a deep blue three-quarter sleeve shirt, blue pencil skirt, and a pair of beige Repetto marlow pumps. Throughout her time working in MDR, the only element of her outfit that really changes is the color of that quarter-sleeve shirt. Sometimes it’s green. Sometimes it’s blue. But either way, it’s always one of the colors that we’ve come to associate with Lumon’s severed floor. Otherwise, she is invariably in a blue pencil skirt and those Repetto pumps that match the color of her skin.

She never says anything about what she wears until episode six of season two, when grappling with the fact that her outie, Helena Eagan, used her body, unbeknownst to her, to get close to Mark S. “She dresses me in the morning like I’m a baby,” she tells him. “That she controls me and this company and all of us…it’s disgusting.”

A couple minutes prior, after learning what her outie did with Mark at the ORTBO, she takes a walk alone down the hall. Her usually swaggered walk is replaced with a saunter that feels like a shrug. She then removes her heels and sits on the floor as they sit beside her.
